She's back

Here I sit at the kitchen table distracted (from the work I am supposed to be doing since I used that as an excuse to not go to church today) by the events happening on my patio. Minnie is on the table, tail twitching, glaring out the window. It seems Mama Squirrel is back, pregnant and ready by pop. She's been cruising along the fence with gagging mouthfuls of nesting materials, leaping up into the tree and disappearing above the roofline. Someone's patio furniture cushions are being relocated. At least it's not jj's stroller... this time.

Cher

Warning Portland.... Cher is traveling your direction. Last night she was in San Jose. I was there too. I saw the show. What do I think? I think Cher is getting worn out. She moves slow and spends way too much time off stage. Personally, I think Dolly put on a better show. Just my humble opionion.

Knit Witt

Bought a book. Well I didn't exactly buy the book. I had a store card at Borders that SH got from charging so much on his discover card. So I spent it on

Like the Title. Now if only I had time to Stitch 'N bitch. Anyway it was an experience. The clerk was a real character. Talked a lot. Told me I should come in on Wednesday mornings cause that's when the knitters show up. Sure I'll talk to my boss about taking time off work to join that little circle. Right.

Was going to knit tonite. About half way through the 2nd chemocap. But I got sidetracked. Started to check out knitting blogs. Oh my. There are a lot of them. Couple of observations...knitters today are young. And they all seem to have cats. I even found a blog by a knitting doctor with tons of "favorite blog links". So tell me, how does a doctor have time to knit and read blogs?

Read a writing hint to help get over writers block... pay yourself to write. I remember once putting $$$ in a jar for every calorie I ate. Was supposed to be able to reward myself with some new clothes or something.... backfired.... put so much money in that jar that I had to be some new clothes allright.... bigger clothes. So, if I put $$$ in a jar for every word I write, will I end up with a big book?

Knit Wit

Finished Yellow Laa Laa TeleTubby hat for Little J. Kinda funky. The spiral top notch doesn't stand up. Kinda like..... no never mind. This knitting is getting addictive. Bought more yarn for chemo caps. They are easy to make and someone will need them.

Today was a holiday for some. Not me. Poor me. Not for the personal trainer at the gym either. Good for me, bad for her.

It's brrrrrrrrrrr cold here. I'm ready for summer. Just think in a few months I'll be complaining that it's too hot.

Ok. That's it. Gonna go knit and chat.

All Work and No Play

I've been working hard. I deserved a break. So I did a red hat thing. Went to breakfast in my PJs along with a couple hundred other red hatters. Then we had a private showing the the Fockers. Gads that's a funny movie.

Check out latest Little J and I page. Gosh they are growing up fast.

Okay, it's back to work for me.

Stuff

Still around. Still busy. It's the January accounting crunch time.... all the year end reports, payroll returns, sales tax etc. Plus gotta have a little fun time. So something's gotta give and it seems to be this blog gets put on the back burner.

Hubby turned 60 this week. Didn't bother him a bit... every five minutes or so he sighed, fumbled around, sighed, tugged at his grey hair, sighed. Was I sympathetic? Are you kidding?

Got into this knitting habit again. Knitting Laa Laa TeleTubby hat for Little J. Good for both of us. He gets to pretend he's his favorite TeleTubby. I get to knit which will help me stay awake for a little TV and keep my hands out of the caramel corn bucket.

2005 Day 3

Still numbering the days... it's easy during the month of January.

Is this to be my accident prone year? Day 1, cut finger opening can of Virginia Peanuts. Day 2, poured hot gravy over hand when trying to balance pan and gravy boat. Day 3, stepped off reformer at gym and almost..... hah caught myself. Hi Katie : )

Wondering why I gained 5 pounds and only ate 2 pounds of See's candies.

Got soft, non-itchy yarn... making chemo caps for two friends in need. Wish I could do more.

2005 day 2

Probably won't count the days but couldn't think of any other way to title this one. Lazy day. Pot roast in crock pot. Gonna just hang out. Maybe do some writing. Maybe continue reading Bobbed Hair and Bathtub Gin. Maybe do some shopping for unnecessary things... and yet... as I write...

SH calls. He's bringing JJ to spend the day. No more lazy day. How quickly plans can change.

2005

Is it just me or does this happen to everyone? Ever since I reached that year where there was no question but that I am well into the 2nd half of my life, I have made this observation.... Each decade lasts about the same amount of time as each year lasted before I turned 50. It is true, right?

2005 so far: I slept the first 6 hours. Spent the next hour trying to decide if I should get out of bed or not. Got up, turned on the computer and updated all my programs thinking that at least the computer should get off to a good start. Ate breakfast (healthy portion of what SH refers to as horse food cereal, nonfat milk, banana and a huge pink Goddess mug full of black coffee). Back at the computer, I catch up on email, try to plan possible trip to Phoenix in February, make a list of all the stuff I must accomplish during January and finally end up here. It's now a little more than 9 hours into 2005. Good start? We'll see.

Resolutions: No new years resolutions. I didn't do them last year, don't think I did them the year before that and don't intend to do them this year. Why? I'm already as unperfect as I need to be and I don't need to be reminded.

Backing up to New Years Eve... SH worked. I went out and bought Sims2 figuring that I would spend evening with new friends... friends that I could control. Guess what? Sims 2 is so much more involved than the original Sims (not original sin) that I gave up after spending an hour creating one character... mz bull. Heck just wanted to see what Sims 2 would do if mz bull lived in Pleasantville. Found out I'm impossible to clone. So, ended up the evening in chat room with red hatters. Toasted through the timezones, virtually passing food without calories and drinks without booze, and headed off to bed just after the Arizonian toast.

Okay, I need to go make penguins now. Taking them to my sister's party along with Virginia peanuts and cheeseball.
