Happy Holidays!

The Molls joined the Ruby Red Hats from Martinez for Christmas Caroling with “ABCs” (AnyBody Can Sing) at Chateau III Monday night. What a colorful and cheerful crowd we were. Afterwards we enjoyed dinner and a gift exchange at Pasta Pomodoro. What a fun evening it was. Many thanks to Queen Karen who arranged this evening along with her Vice Queen Diane.

More than 20 Molls and Rossmoor Red Hatters enjoyed a delightful concert with our very own Princess Jeanette performing right up there at top center. Dinner afterwards at Scotts was great fun thanks to our “Queen of the Moment Alicia” who arranged for last minute reservations. Unfortunately this queen forgot to charge her camera batteries so she only got pictures “before the show”.

Once again it was time for the Annual Victorian Afternoon Tea and as always it was a delightful day. After a delightful tea, we were treated to barbershop quartet music, and finally the awarding of raffle prizes. (The Queen just happened to win a little something). Much thanks to Robin, the San Ramon Historic Foundation, and many volunteers for all the hard work that went into this effort.

The Rossmoor Red Hatters invited us to lunch at the Fireside Room today. We enjoyed the pleasant company of over sixty Rossmoor chapter members. Our salads, - fruit or pork - were delicious, followed up by a delightful chocolate mousse pie.

Much thanks to Ruth for inviting us and all the hard work from her volunteers.

A hot day didn't keep the The Rockin' Crimson Christians of Modesto from traveling via Amtrak to Martinez for a day of shopping and lunch. Here they are with The Molls at LaBeau's. We had great company, conversation and a delicious meal.

The three dedicated Tom Rigney fans once again enjoyed a superb show at the Isleton Crawdad Festival. After a little manipulative "juxtapositioning" we got the best seats... front row center. Here we are sipping on our refreshing iced cafe lattes, waking up, ready to beat the heat. Ah yes, it was a GREAT performance.

I am sad to say that one of our Molls passed away June 13th. Fortunately, she went peacefully in her sleep. Nancy was always ready to have a good time and came up with lots of event ideas. We will miss her.

Never trust a Queen with a camera. Nope...can't trust her. Yep... three Molls ate all these desserts....After eating huge bowls of yummy onion soup with lots of cheese at Houlihans.

AND after that we went to hear the Blackhawk Chorus at DVC. This was a fantastic concert... all 100 years of Broadway!

What could be better on a rainy afternoon then a Berkeley Broadway Singers performance? What fun we had and to top it off we had a superb dinner at the Grand Oaks Restaurant. See more pictures here. (BBS Album and April 2006 Album)

FIDO

"Forget It Drive On" as John Madden used to say. So, here are a few of the red hatters who changed to plan B when the Snow Train to Reno had to turn around in Roseville this week. We made the best of a trying situation and headed for Pleasanton to hear a little Dixieland Jazz at the Pleasanton Hotel. We ended up being royally pampered by the wonderful staff at the luxurious Rose Hotel. The elegantly appointed rooms include such amenities as french pressed coffee, turn down service with Laderach Suisse chocolates, imported spring water, fresh cut roses and soft jazz music.

In the usual Red Hat fashion we showed up for a Purple PJ breakfast in the lobby. The gourmet continental breakfast was a fine presentation of everything from fresh fruit and pastries, lox and bagels, to Peet's coffee. As we were enjoying breakfast, John Madden graciously assisted one of our ladies in pouring her coffee. It turns John's sons, Mike and Joe, own the hotel.

The Palace Hotel is a delightful setting for tea and we thank Vonne Anne, our Queen for the Day. Some of us extended the outing with a trip to SF Musuem of Modern Art. For more pictures see the March 2006 album on picture trail.

Hungry? Please remind the Queen to order lobster next time we go to Basil Leaf Cafe. Darn, that looked good. Anyway, the Molls had a great time. More pictures are in the January 2006 album.

Wigged Out was just as great as last time we went there with humor and wit enough to keep us all gasping and giggling. We only wish the show lasted a bit longer.
