Red Hat Molls

Our picnic at Rossmoor was a big success today. I do believe that all 18 of us had a wonderful time. We indulged in every imaginable "high tea" treat.

Those members who live in Rossmoor will be featured on Channel 11 (the official Rossmoor TV channel) and possibly in the Rossmoor news. Please note that the Queen does not live in Rossmoor but she is in the picture... just because she is the Queen.

Our table was decorated with linen, flowers, and fancy teapots. Each Moll brought her own favorite teacup.

The next schedule event will be August 16th trip to Healdsburg.

But please check back frequently because there may be a couple of interim, last minute meetings.

We now have 30 official RHS Molls Ladies!

THE LATEST NEWS:

Olivia has worked on a theme song for our chapter. Let's work on learning this. Of course I expect you all to drown me out because when I sing I sound like I've swallowed my red feather boa. Here goes:

call molls irresponsible
call molls unreliable
throw in a little foolishness too
does our purple clothing abhore you?
with our red hatted heads
we laugh, not bore you

call molls unpredictable
tell us we're impractical
red hats we're inclined to pursue
call us irresponsible
yes we're unreliable
but we're understandably new
we're irresponsibly mad, it's true

Olivia has also arranged to order sequin red hats for those who are interested. Cost is $13 plus shipping. So if you have not yet expressed a desire for this fine baseball hat, please let me know this weekend so she can go ahead and place the order.

Judy O. is working with a friend to design our banner.

Looks like our participation in the Benicia parade tonight and the Fairfield parade fizzled out.

We are getting into July with no plans for the month. Anyone have any desire to plan an something? Even if it's just a casual lunch or picnic it would be good to get together as our own chapter event.

Remember to put August 16th on your calendar for our trip to Healdsburg. Sounds like it will be a blast with red hatters from many many chapters descending upon the village. While it is fun to be part of such a grand event, we will have plenty of time to get to know our own chapter members during the ride up and back. Please let me know if you are interested in going to this event so I can make some reservations for lunch for our group. Also let me know if any of you have ideas where we should eat in that area.

Ellen and Pat are working on plans for an A's game in September. The sequin baseball caps will be perfect for that adventure.

I'm looking forward to see you all soon.

Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July.

Red Hatter Alert: In The Costco Connection this month it is noted that according to a random telephone survey for Pilot Pen Corporation, "pen users of the purple persuasion make the best workers." It is also stated that "most men who use purple pens are likely to accidentally take pens home. Size doesn't seem to matter..." This is good news for the red hat ladies who covet everything and anything purple. Of course we all know that we are good workers. But chances are if our husband/boyfriend is a hard worker, we will find purple pens in his pockets!
